Aims of community
Norfolk Women’s Marketing Network was founded to offer a community to those seeking connections with like-minded individuals. Marketing is constantly evolving and there’s undeniable value in having peers to ask questions to and bounce ideas off of. NWM Network runs monthly networking events and social meetups in Norfolk, on the values of: Connect, Share, Empower.
Who can attend
We welcome any women and non-binary folk who have an interest in or work in marketing.
We do not welcome:
- any offensive attitudes or behaviours, including but not limited to: transphobia, homophobia, sexism or racism
- anyone who is not open-minded to networking and meeting new people
- any hate speech or bullying
- any unsolicited promotions or spam
- any invasions of privacy
- any harassment or unsolicited contact
Sponsorship
Why we need supporters
As a nonprofit organisation, we rely on the support of local businesses and volunteers to help us run our events successfully. With the help of our supporters, we strive to run every event to a standard that adds value to every woman who attends.
The NWM Network is still a fledgling community – by supporting us in these early stages, you can join us in building an empowered community of marketers.
Supporting us enables you to boost your brand awareness to over 500 marketing professionals across Norwich and Norfolk. Our members come from a wide range of roles including in-house marketing teams, agencies, freelancers, and business directors.
Means of support
NWM Network welcome a range of support: hosting, funding, or gifting. NWM Network reserve the right to accept or reject any support as they see fit, and any supporters relinquish the right to dictate how the network uses their support once given.
Host us
We run monthly events for around 60 attendees. Venue hire can be tricky for a group of this size (with no real budget), so if you have a Norwich city centre venue – we’d love to hear from you!
Fund us
Depending on the event, venue hire costs and refreshments need to be supplied by us. Funding from our supporters helps us to ensure our events are the best they can be.
Gift us
If you think you have a product or service that we could benefit from, i.e. content creation services or refreshments, we’re always greatly appreciative of gifts from our supporters.
Who can support us
We endeavour to exclusively work with supporters who share our values, with any business matching at least one of the following:
- The supporter is based in Norfolk, was founded in Norfolk, or has some connection to Norfolk
- The supporter is founded by women (or non-binary folk), champions women (or non-binary folk), or is connected to a member of our community.
- The supporter is part of the marketing industry or complements the marketing industry in some way, shape, or form.
NWM Network reserve the right to accept support from any company they choose, in the knowledge that there may be exceptions to the conditions above.
What supporters receive
Our supporters are represented by us via a logo on our website, as well as mention on any reference of their sponsored event. A supporter’s logo will be on the website for 12 months from the date of sponsorship, before being removed.* *Unless support is renewed.
During their sponsored event, the supporter will be mentioned in the welcome talk, along with a short summary of their business and what they do.
Women or non-binary representatives from supporters are allowed to attend their sponsored event, but are strictly prohibited from unsolicited pitching or selling to any attendees.
Events
The aim of our events is for people to get the opportunity to talk to like-minded individuals in a non-judgmental environment.
In order to make sure our events run smoothly and in line with our values, we have some guidelines that we respectfully ask all attendees to follow:
- No selling – or pitching third party organisations, businesses, networking groups
- Openness – open to new perspectives and opinions. Open to helping others.
- Everyone welcome – reducing barriers, keeping events free and reducing/ eliminating cost of attending
Speakers
We welcome speakers at our events. Public speaking is a challenge and we insist that all attendees are respectful when anyone is talking.
During a talk, we ask that no one interrupts the speaker (except in case of emergency), with all questions kept until the end of the talk, when welcomed by the speaker.
Social media
NWM Network is happy to share updates, news, and job postings to the public social media accounts that are submitted by members of the community. However, we always reserve the right to decline any post requests and recommend people post their updates in the private LinkedIn group themselves for guaranteed publication.
We only share job postings that have been put forward by members of our community who currently work at the relevant company, this is to assure that we have a member’s approval that the company is a positive workplace for women and/or non-binary folk. Consequently, we share the member’s name along with the job posting to act as a spokesperson for the company in question.
Ideally, we will only ever share job postings that announce the salary.
Private LinkedIn Group Guidelines
Be kind and polite
We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
No Hate Speech or Bullying
Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
No promotions or spam
Networking is the aim here, but no-one wants to be sold to in a space designed for developing genuine connections! Give more than you take to this group. Spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed.
Respect everyone’s privacy
This group is a safe space and must be confidential. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.
